2007 jeep grand cherokee diesel immobilizer light will not turn off, no start

Question

im using a compustart combo unit, evo-chr with harness  the connection type d in the manual and programming works, i can control the door locks etc..., however the vehicle does not remote start and the immobilizer light on the cluster remains flashing. any ideas? do i need to turn on datalink protocol F2?

i have updated the firmware aswell

to answer my own post, datalink protocol F2 must be ON. I also had the problem where i had the compustar unit in tachless mode and the vehicle would shut dowm ofter a few seconds running, once i switched the RS to wired tach mode and programmed the tach, all was well.
