2015 Hyundai Genesis PTS Evo-One doesn't start

I used guide 17323 revision 20140804 to wire up a 2015 Hyundai Genesis PTS to and EVO-One.  I have programmed the EVO-One and it responds as the directions say.  I have oem remote monitoring on, when I lock the doors three times, I get a blue blink every time I hit the lock button, on the third press the parking lights come on, the doors unlock, the car's dash screen comes on but it doesn't start.  The middle LED on  the EVO-One is lit orange and after about 5 seconds it locks and unlocks the doors, then about 5 seconds later it locks all the doors and the middle LED shuts off.  If I had to guess I would say that the starter out is either not sending the signal or the starter+ is not hooked up correctly?  I have it hooked to the brown orange wire in the loom indicated on the wiring diagram but there are a ton of wires there.  What else can I do to troubleshoot?  I am running firmware 76.16 with C1, D1, D1.6, D2 and D6 turned on

Verify your starter connection. If there is more than one brown/orange wire in the same harness you absolutly have to test the wire with a DMM BEFORE connecting anything to it.

The good start wire will show 12V for about a second when you start the car with the push button.

So I checked the brown/orange wire and I get +12V when I hit the push to start button, I also checked the output on the Evo-One yellow wire and I get +12V when I click the remote three times.  Ideas on what to check next?
Do you get 12v on this wire when you press the start button without pressing the brake ?

 I am running firmware 76.16 with C1, D1, D1.6, D2 and D6 turned on

Remove D1 and D1.6. Those options are not for the EVO-ONE. It shows up the Offline options because the flash-link will not recognize which product is connected. If you go in the actual online options tab, you see that those D1 options are not available.

 

To enable 3x Lock on the EVO-ONE, you need to enable option 38.2 in the remote starter options and option C1 - OEM remote monitoring in the bypass options.

 

For option 38.2 - is it the "Enable (Press 3x Lock to remote-start) (Bypass module required)" or the "Enable Control by OEM Remote" option?  Also, should I be setting any of the other settings in that screen?

Function 38 mode 2 - "Enable (Press 3x Lock to remote-start) (Bypass module required)"

 

You shouldn't also function 31 to mode 5 as per installation diagram

I see now, I was going into configuration options instead of using the tab, I assume in your reply you meant I should enable function 31.5 per the instructions (not shouldn't), right?  Thanks for the help, as soon as I get the car back I will let you know if that cleared it up.

 

So the final settings for the remote-start are:

3.1, 4.1, 5.1,6.1,7.1,8.1,9.1,11.1, 11.4,12.1,13.2,14.1,15.1,16.5,

18.1,19.1,20.6,21.1,24.1,25 off, 26.1, 29.1,30.1,31.5,

32.1,33.1,34.1,35.1,36.2,37.1,38.2,39.1

the options seem fine from what you wrote for the remote starter portion of the unit.
And for the Evo_all options (not sure if they even matter) I have the following turned on:

A1-A10, C1, D2, D6

 

Are those right?
You don't need D6 but it doesn;t hurt to try with and without. You absolutely need C1 - oem remote monitoring for 3x lock to work.
So, I finally got around to testing all of this and I found the issue (or what I think the issue is).  I got a power probe and hooked it to the brown/black wire (#16 on the 32 pin smart key module) per the diagrams I got off of Hyundai's tech site.  That is indeed the wire that does the signal to tell the car to turn on and then start.  The problem is that when you hit the start button it goes from +12V to ground, not the other way around.  My understanding of the EVO-One is that it would be sending a +12V to start through the yellow wire in the 6 pin harness and not a ground signal.  Is there any way to change the programming to get that behavior, or do I need to wire in a relay to convert the signal?

 

Just to double check that this was indeed the case, when I hooked the power probe to the car, if I pushed the - toggle (to send a ground signal) the car turned on and then when I hit it again it turned fully on, then I hit it a third time and it shut down, just like what the start-stop button does.

Are you sure you gave us the right service number? because checking this service number tells me that it has not been  programmed yet with the proper firmware and is still using the default factory firmware 4.18

 

You need to plug this into a Flashlink Updater-2 with a valid internet connection and flash it with the proper firmware and options.

I will check the firmware when I get home.  If I put in the new firmware then it will send a ground signal when it tries to start, correct?

The wire you need is a BROWN/ORANGE wire in the harness from the Smart key module and it is a POSITIVE 12V trigger connected to the Yellow (start wire evo one)

DO NOT CONNECT ANYTHING TO THAT WIRE YOU FOUND THAT SWITCHES NEGATIVE WHEN YOU PUSH THE PUSH TO START BUTTON.
