Evo All and RF Kit with Aftermarket Power Locks

+2 votes
Hey guys I got another quick question,

I purchased the EVO All, THAR-FOR1 T-Harness and RFK442 RF Kit which I will be installing soon for remote start functionality.

So my 2011 F-150 did not come with power locks so I wired up a relay with a momentary switch a few days ago which is working well so far (see link for wiring diagram below).

My question was, would it be ok to hook up the lock pin A19 and unlock pin A5 on the EVO All  (see Fortin wiring diagram below) to pin 85 and 86 which go to the momentary switch (see other wiring diagram).

https://fortin.ca/download/94891/EVO-ALL_IG_RTS_BI_FOR-FSERIES-2011-2016_KEY80bits_D_94891.pdf

My thought process here was that say for example, I click lock on the RF Kit which would send the command to the EVO All and then the EVO ALL would send voltage to the relay and finally the door will lock?

Did I get this right? What's confusing me is why a diode is needed in that orientation, seems like it will be blocking the lock signal?

Thank you so much!

A4 for Lock

A5 for Unlock

A19 is for vehicles with factory keyless and an OEM alarm. Not really needed in this case.

Thanks!

My assumption is that the diode is no longer needed now when connecting lock to A4 right?
Hi Robert,

I just finished hooking A4 to the lock with no diode and A5 to unlock like the momentary switch but when I press unlock on my Fortin RF Kit 442 the car unlocks and then re-locks itself after a second or two. Clicking lock on the RF kit does nothing.

This seems like a programming setting needs to be changed, I get the feeling that since I didn't hook up A19 it doesn't know whether the door is locked or unlocked so its reversing, not sure?

Any idea what option in the programming setting I should disable with my Flash link? Like OEM remote monitoring?

Other than that my remote start is working and I love it!

Thanks.
If actuators were added, you may want to verify that they are place/attached correctly and are simply not coming back to the lock postion due to to much tension on the rod.

If this is your module, 001A06771829 , your settings are fine.
I don't think its a problem with the actuators because the momentary switch I installed (negative trigger) inside the cab works fine when pressed, been running it for a while.

Here is a more detailed explanation of the problem I am having.

  • The "Lock" button on the RF442 doesn't do anything.
  • The "Unlock" button on the RF442 locks and then immediately unlocks the door
Its like A4 and A5 are reversed.
Problem solved.

I just had to wire the "lock" side to A19 like the diagram shows instead of A4.

Also, I did not use a diode since I don't have a factory alarm with my F-150.

Everything now works, loving the product!
