D2D or W2W Fortin EVO All with FORT1 T-Harness and AVITAL 4105L for 2011 F-150

Hi,

I purchased the THAR-FORT1 Kit which comes with the EVO ALL and FORT1 T-Harness. I also purchased the FlashLink updater and will set the EVO ALL to D2D.

I would like to pair all of this with an Avital 4015L remote starter for my 2011 F-150 (I do not want to use the factory remote start protocol as my truck doesn't have power locks).

I would like to only use the D2D cable to connect to the Avital 4015L in order to cut down on wire clutter. I would like to know if the D2D cable is the only cable I need to connect between the these two.

I was looking at the wiring diagram for the EVO ALL with the FORT1 T-Harness and on the left side of the remote starter every cable is optional if D2D is used but on the right side there is parking lights which I don't care for so I wont be hooking up and Ignition. Doesn't the ignition communicate through D2D?

Wanted to know if I am on the right track here before I start the install.

Thanks!

Also, instead of the Avital remote starter, would just buying a Fortin FRK441 work too without using the factory remote start protocol? because my truck doesn't have power locks).

Hello,

Yes an RF kit would be the easiest way to go about it. Seeing you have no power door locks a 1 button remote such as the 411 or 912 would be perfect.

This would be the isntallation guide using the evo-fort1 and an rf kit: https://fortin.ca/download/94891/EVO-ALL_IG_RTS_BI_FOR-FSERIES-2011-2016_KEY80bits_D_94891.pdf

Please note 2 OEM keys are required to program the unit.

The evo-all can do both d2d and w2w, so its up to you to decide which one you wanna use if you go that route.

Best regards.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah, I was going to hookup aftermarket door lock actuators with a relay and hardwire the evo to it, thats why I want the 4 button remote. Probably gonna end up getting a Fortin remote. Not sure yet havent made my decision.

Another question. If I do end up getting the Avital remote and hook it up D2D, on the wiring diagram I linked below using the FORT1 T-Harness you can see that on the right side of the remote start module it shows Ignition (+) RS6 hardwired, is this required? I was under the impression that this goes through D2D as well.

And also the parking light wire right under it. Do I need to hook that up? I don't care if the lights flash or not with the remote so id rather not hook it up.

And lastly, do I need the Fortin RFA2A adapter for standalone install with the RFK442

Thank you so much!

Hello,

You must connect ignition from the avital, it does not go through d2d, that is why it is shown as a connection in the guide.

Parking lights are optional.

Yes, the rfa2a would be required when using evo-fort1.

Best regards.
Ok thanks, I am going to go with the Fortin RFK442 kit to compliment my EVO All and THAR-FOR1 T-Harness.

Any reason why there is only a photo of the RF kit on the wiring diagram on the page for THAR-FOR4 and not the THAR-FOR1 page which is what I have?

Let me know because I am gonna purchase it in a couple of days.
RF kit programming is in a seperate guide which can be found here: https://fortin.ca/en/technologies/compatible-remote-controllers/
