recently did a 2013 toyota highlander regular key with a evo-all and compustar using data mode. made all connections and everyting worked. customer came back saying auto lights didnt work after takeover, but were fine when started wirth the key. checked settings and turned door status OUTPUT back on and now they come on when the driver door is opened. any idea on why it needs the output turned on?

Talk about timing. Someone left a comment about lighting on this car on our facebook page.

Here's the entire quote!

My experience with every Highlander I've done is completely different from what's in the guide. Here's the highlights of what I've found:

---autolamps do not come on during remote start. The relay is a complete waste of time and is almost totally un
necessary.

---If the customer leaves the headlamp switch in the "auto" position, the negative parking light wire, either at the body computer or at the light switch, does not function.

I think if you could interrupt the autolamps wire with the relay during the entire runtime, the negative light wire would work, but I'm pretty sure all the firmware does is interrrupt the wire for a moment at RS shutdown.

SUMMARY: If customer always parks with switch in the full-off position, you could hook up the negative light wire as shown in the guide and it will work. Skip the interrupt.

If customer parks with the switch in the "auto" position, the only way you'll have parking lights during remote start is to use positive parking lights.

ya i have seen that before with toyota, if they leave auto lights on, parking lights will not activate but i think with the CAN connections controllling the OEM keyless it flashes the lights. also by the end of it i had parking lights on while remote started. then like i said i open the driver door and the headlights come on while in auto mode
