Bypass for 2011 Ford Ranger, 80-Bit

+1 vote
I'm working with a customer who has a 2011 Ranger with the 80-bit key.    EVO-RIDE only lists 40-bit in the compatibility chart.   EVO-ALL sas it's compatible with that vehicle, but makes no mention of either key type in the compatibility chart.

So....Which is the right module to use for a 2011 Ranger 80-bit?

Thanks!

Ford Ranger is 40 bit. Even if the key is stamped with an SA on it, the encryption can be 40 bit and not 80 bit. The only way to know is to test the IMMO Power wire at the 4-pin transponder connector.

  • If the wire tests as keysense, it's an 80 bit.
  • If the wire tests as ignition, it's a 40 bit

EVO-ALL, EVO-KEY and EVO-RIDE will work on this vehicle. If you do not have at least 2 master keys, i'd recommend the EVO-ALL or EVO-KEY so that you can use the DCryptor instead of the regular Ford programming procedure.
